Masking #1 - Technique Video

Hello!  Remember that X-Press It Mask It film I've been raving about?  Well, I've got my first video tutorial on using it to share today.  :-) But first, here are the cards I made in the video...

A few details about X-Press It Mask It film - it's a low tack masking film that's transparent and reusable, and it has a handy grid on the backing sheet that's visible from both sides.  Perfect for placing dies to make your mask.  :-)

I hope you find this tutorial useful!  Thanks so much for visiting.  :-)

Oh. Em. Gee.

You know Kim Teasdale?  As in, Paper In The Works, colouring guru and general "I wanna be her when I grow up" kinda gal?

I got an email from her a couple of weeks ago.  A rather flattering email in which she announced that she's starting a new challenge blog and she'd seen my work, and she thought I'd be a perfect fit for the DT... would I be interested??

I wish I could tell you that I nonchalantly opened my email and read it with the cool-ness of someone... well... cool.

Alas, I cannot.

My jaw literally dropped and then I said... "HOLY  F&%$  KNUCKLE!"

Yep.  I am that cool.  I can't even use expletives in a cool way...

I wrote a hurried email in reply basically saying that I'd started speaking gibberish as soon as I read her email and that I've been blog stalking her for AGES...

There's that cool streak again.  ;-)

And of course I said YES.  She may live to regret the invitation...

All I have left to say squeal is this...

My name is on Kim's blog!
MY name is on KIM'S blog!
And I totally didn't put it there!

RCC37 - Non-Traditional Colors with Suzanne

I'm a little late posting this card for The Ribbon Carousel Challenge, because no matter what idea I had, I just couldn't get it to work!  And now that I've managed it, I can't get a good photo that shows all the details...  Argh!

The front panel with the heart is white embossed on white card and I then masked a heart and coloured it using Distress Inks.  And the bottom panel is dry embossed with a PTI Impressions Plate.  So it's CAS, but with some texture.  Not to mention the gorgeous Black Seam Binding from The Ribbon Carousel...

Check out the challenge post on The Ribbon Carousel Challenge blog for all the details on how you can double your chances of winning this week!

I'm also entering these challenges...

Thanks for stopping by!  :-)

Market Street Stamps - A New Favourite

I received my first order from Market Street Stamps a couple of days ago, and I'm SO impressed!  They're an excellent quality, the prices are awesome, and the designs are just gorgeous.  I'm sold!

I used 2 Market Street Stamps for this card, Vintage Wallpaper and Believing Butterfly.

I just love this quote!

And here are the challenges I'm entering:

Thanks for visiting!  :-)

RCC36 - Danielle's Go To Sketch

It's not my scheduled week to play with the Ribbon Carousel Challenge, but I've been wanting to try the Some Odd Girl stamps for a while so I couldn't resist!

This is the sketch that we're working with this week and you can see all the gorgeous DT samples here.

I've used a digi stamp called Roller Mae - she's so cute!  I coloured her with Prismacolor Pencils to match the Studio Calico papers I used.  And I finished the card off the card with some gorgeous 5/8 Natural Crochet Ribbon from the Ribbon Carousel.

I hope you join in the challenge!

RCC35 - Inspired By With Laurel

Hello!  I'm back with another challenge post for The Ribbon Carousel Challenge.  Laurel has challenged us with this Pinterest photo:

And this week we're being sponsored by Whimsie Doodles.  The DT were generously given some images to play with, and in addition to sponsoring our prize, Whimsie Doodles are offering you a 10% discount!  Head over to the RCC post to get the discount code and link up your creation.

And here's the card I made using this adorable phone digi stamp.  I printed it on white card stock and again on a piece of patterned paper from My Minds Eye Lost & Found Breeze, then paper pieced it together.  Then I went in with some Prismacolor Pencils and added some shading.  Some Scarab Vintage Seam Binding from The Ribbon Carousel finished it off perfectly.

I quite like how this card turned out.  Sadly, my CAS cards take FAR longer than it would seem to make!
